DAY 1.
LA PAZ – COPACABANA
We leave from La Paz heading northwest across the Altiplano. Along the way you will observe the imposing view of the Royal Andean Range as well as the Titicaca Lake. After four hours, we arrive at our hotel in Copacabana. After lunch we visit the imposing cathedral made out of whitewashed stone walls and multiple domes decorated with deep blue tiles. The massive gold altarpiece is remarkable, decorated with silver leaves brought from the Potosi mines. After that we walk up to the top of the Calvary hill from where you can appreciate the sunset. Then we returned to the hotel.
DAY 2.
COPACABANA – SUN ISLAND – COPACABANA – LA PAZ
After breakfast we started our journey on board a motor boat to visit the south section of the sacred Sun Island. There are two main attractions: The Yumani area where we will find a water fountain, which is supposed to grant eternal youth and the Picocaina area, a mysterious Inca Ruin. After that, we go back to Copacabana again by boat. We eat lunch and return to La Paz after four hours. You can also continue your trip by bus to Puno.
